Get More Visibility for your PrestaShop Store with Search Engine Optimization

It is a well-known fact that PrestaShop development is highly recommended for small and medium businesses as it is compliant with several features necessary for an e-commerce store. It has apt features for the merchants and the shoppers as well. Still, the development and launch of the e-commerce website will not suffice to run the business successfully. It is necessary to opt for Search Engine Optimization to rank high in the search engine so as to get more visibility alluring more customers.

There are certain basic points and a few advanced points involved which demands the change of the PrestaShop code and installation of the modules. Let us know the points to be considered which a merchant must know and confirm with his PrestaShop web developer to run a successful business online.

  • The first point to consider is position the keywords relevant to the business. We find a tool in the Google Adwords which is integrated into the keyword planner recently. When you enter the keywords and check its performance, you are able to find out the global and local searches for the popular keyword on monthly basis. With these reports, you may set the relevant keywords in content.
  • It is recommended to write descriptions on own. It is better to write the Meta titles, descriptions, labels in the information sheets of the products, and include the coherent URL which supports SEO. The same rule applies for the manufacturers and the categories. These things provide SEO-friendly data for the Google as it crawls through the product sheets.
  • The sitemap must be generated through the Google sitemap by PrestaShop module available in the module SEO tab. The robots file could be generated in Tools > Prestashop 1.4 generators and in Preferences > SEO & URLs in Prestashop 1.5, and so forth.
  • It is compulsory that your website as fast as possible. It is easily achieved by deactivating the recompilation which is used in the development environment for loading the PrestaShop templates, CSS and JavaScript. Once the development phase is done with, it is recommended to deactivate it so that the websites work in a proper condition. The other option is considering the hosting JavaScripts, CSS, and images in external servers.
  • It is recommended to avoid duplication of URLs and the titles. Generally, the duplication happens in the website which has pagination. You must work on the PrestaShop core and change the title, page Meta description and the URL, or include the products in a single page with no pagination, which is not possible in case of large products.
